The Christian tradition of the Eucharist probably derives from early Hindu or Zoroastrianism practices. In addition, of course, Christianity derives much of its traditions from Judaism and the Gnostic sects and so carries a history of hemp use as religious incense. The influence of the modern day Roman Church with its puritanical control and custom of historical censorship has attempted to obliterate all reference to Cannabis. This is something that the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church attempts to correct in its publication “Marijuana and the Bible.”
